People of the Hill Lab

Dr. Sarah Hill, M.D./Ph.D., is a board certified anatomic pathologist and physician scientist focused on understanding the mechanisms of ovarian carcinogenesis and therapeutic sensitivity and resistance.  She completed her A.B. at Harvard College, her Ph.D. at Harvard University in the laboratory of Dr. David Livingston at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and her M.D. at Harvard Medical School.  She is also a Rhodes Scholar and completed an M.Sc. in biochemistry at Oxford University. Upon graduation from the Harvard MD/PhD program, she trained in anatomic pathology at Brigham and Women's Hospital where she also completed a Women's and Perinatal Pathology Fellowship. In her spare time, Dr. Hill is an avid runner who enjoys competing in marathons and shorter distance races.  See current write-up on young investigators at DFCI.

Ms. Katie Lynch, B.S. is a Research Assistant from Canton, Massachusetts. She graduated from NYU cum laude with a B.S. in Neuroscience with Honors. Before joining at Dana, she was a volunteer for two years in the lab of Dr. Nicolas Tritsch at NYU Langone where she completed her thesis on the kinematic effects of optogenetically-induced neural perturbations. She is an aspiring M.D./Ph.D. student. Apart from science, she loves yoga, enjoys Netflix, and when there isn’t a global pandemic occurring, loves trying new restaurants and bars with friends.

Ms. Mosammat Faria Afreen, B.S. is a Research Assistant from Cambridge, Massachusetts. She graduated from Brandeis University cum laude with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a dual B.S./M.S. in Biology with Highest Honors. Prior to joining the Hill lab, she was a research assistant in Dr. James Haber’s lab where she completed her thesis on the influence of Sgs1 and Mph1 in DNA repair and mismatch correction. She hopes to pursue an M.D./Ph.D in the future. Aside from research, she loves biking, baking, and learning about the intersection of race, science, and society. ​
